PECTAA has reduced the English Class 9 (compulsory English) syllabus for the 2027 board exams under its Smart Syllabus, also called the Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP). Three of the eleven units of the English-9 textbook are excluded. This page lists them and explains how the 2027 paper will be made, including the parts that come from English Grammar and Composition 9-10.

- Skip units 5, 8 and 10 and their review-exercise questions.
- Read units 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 closely; Q3 paragraphs come only from them.
- Prepare The Dear Departed separately for Q2 Part B.
- About 38 marks (Q1 a and d, Q6 to Q9) depend on English Grammar and Composition 9-10, so practise it alongside the textbook.
