The number in brackets is how many short questions come from that chapter. Each short question carries 2 marks.
Long questions (24 marks)
Five long questions are given and you attempt any three, 8 marks each. Each question has part (a) of 5 marks and part (b) of 3 marks, and the two parts come from different chapters of the group shown below.
| Question | Chapters the question is set from |
|---|---|
| Q5 | Chapters 1, 2 and 3 |
| Q6 | Chapters 4, 5 and 6 |
| Q7 | Chapters 7 and 8 |
| Q8 | Chapters 9 and 10 |
| Q9 | Chapters 11 and 12 |
How to use this for preparation
- Mark the deleted sections, examples and exercise items in your book first.
- Chapters 5, 7, 9, 10 and 12 give two MCQs each, and chapters 3, 4, 5 and 7 give four short questions each. Give these the most time.
- Many numericals are removed, so practise the remaining ones of each chapter thoroughly.
- Chapter 11 has only one short question but shares long question Q9 with chapter 12, so do not skip it.
- Practise past papers, but skip any question that comes from a deleted topic.
