The 2025 pairing scheme for Class 10 Chemistry is now available for students across the Punjab boards. It covers BISE Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, along with the Azad Kashmir board, and lays out how the 60-mark theory paper is split across chapters 9 to 16.
Chemistry rewards students who know exactly where the marks sit. This scheme shows which chapters supply the most MCQs, how the short questions are grouped across Questions 2, 3 and 4, and which chapter pairs appear in the long questions — so you can revise the heavy-weight chapters first instead of spreading effort evenly.

Exam Pattern Breakdown
MCQs — 12 Marks

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 1 | 12 | 1 | 15 | 2 |
| 10 | 2 | 13 | 2 | 16 | 1 |
| 11 | 1 | 14 | 2 |
12 MCQs in total — 5 are taken from exercise questions and 7 are additional (out-of-exercise).
Short Questions — 30 Marks (Attempt any 5 out of 8 in each)
| Q.2 – Chapter | Qs | Q.3 – Chapter | Qs | Q.4 – Chapter | Qs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 3 | 11 | 3 | 15 | 4 |
| 10 | 3 | 13 | 3 | 16 | 4 |
| 12 | 2 | 14 | 2 |
Qs = number of questions offered from that chapter. Question 4 draws its 8 short questions from just two chapters (15 and 16), so prepare those thoroughly.
Long Questions — 18 Marks (Attempt 2 out of 3)
| Question 5 | Question 6 | Question 7 |
|---|---|---|

Marks Distribution

Important Things to Know
- Chapters 15 and 16 together supply the whole of Question 4 in the short questions, so they are high-value — cover them fully.
- In the long questions, parts (a) and (b) come from fixed chapters, but the exact question can differ across boards.
- The 2025 paper follows the SLO-based pattern, so it differs a little from older papers; even so, roughly 90% of this scheme is expected to hold.
- This scheme is built around Punjab boards. Cover every chapter fully rather than relying on the scheme alone.
