Class 10 Computer Science students under the Punjab boards can now prepare for the 2025 board exam using the official pairing scheme. It applies to BISE Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan, plus the Azad Kashmir board, and shows how the 50-mark theory paper is spread across the five chapters.
With only five chapters, Computer Science is very scoring once you know where the marks fall. This scheme shows the MCQ split, how the short questions are grouped across Questions 2, 3 and 4 (including the Arrays and Loops parts of Chapter 4), and which chapters carry the long questions — including the Chapter 3 program.

Exam Pattern Breakdown
MCQs — 10 Marks
| Chapter | MCQs | Chapter | MCQs | Chapter | MCQs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 5 | 2 |
| 2 | 2 | 4 | 2 |
All five chapters carry two MCQs each (10 in total). Chapter 4 gives one MCQ from Arrays and one from Loops.
Short Questions — 24 Marks (Attempt any 4 out of 6 in each)
| Q.2 – Chapter | Qs | Q.3 – Chapter | Qs | Q.4 – Chapter | Qs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 4 (Array) | 2 |
| 2 | 3 | 4 (Loops) | 3 | 5 | 4 |
Chapter 4 is split by topic — Arrays and Loops appear separately. Qs = questions offered from that chapter; you attempt any 4 of the 6 in each of Q.2, Q.3 and Q.4.
Long Questions — 16 Marks (Attempt 2 out of 3)
| Question 5 | Question 6 | Question 7 |
|---|---|---|
| Ch 1 (8 marks) | Ch 2 (8 marks) | Ch 3 Program (8 marks) |
Each long question carries 8 marks. Question 7 is a program from Chapter 3. You attempt any 2 of the 3.
Important Things to Know
- Chapter 5 and Chapter 4 (Arrays and Loops) carry the most short-question weight — revise them fully.
- Question 7 is a programming question from Chapter 3, so practise writing and dry-running programs.
- The 2025 paper follows the SLO-based pattern, so it differs a little from older papers; even so, roughly 90% of this scheme is expected to hold.
- This scheme is built around Punjab boards. Cover every chapter fully rather than relying on the scheme alone.
